Pretty little things

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

My vacation continues to be beach-less but with lots of time spent in the pool… Summer’s sunny and scalding hot! Throughout Christmas with family, eat is all we did!

I am shocked at the prices here in Brazil. I find a lot of beautiful things that I’d love to have, but the prices are really extorsive. I am seeing myself increasingly more detached of the Brazilian “reality” and ask myself how is it possible to have prices sooooo incompatible with the purchasing power here. Everything can be bought in a million of monthly installments, but so what? You end up paying twice as much as you would for a fairly priced product. Therefore, I’ve been very diligent on my acquisitions here. But since I love Brazil’s summer fashion so much, especially bikinis and bijoux, I could not resist and bought some pieces that I plan to use during Boston’s brief summer.

Due to the absence of my favorite photographer, my lack of ability with the tripod, and the fact that these pieces speak for themselves, I decided to photograph them just like that… my presence, this time, was limited to be on the other side of the lenses.

I leave 2009 with a promise of nice photos, fair looks, and a lot of information exchange for the next year! Happy 2010! A healthy, peaceful, and loveful year for all of us!

News from Brazil

Friday, December 18th, 2009

The weather down here is perfect and vacation is awesome, but to take good pictures and posting them proved to a bigger hassle than I thought it would be. I have not adapted to using this tripod thing yet and by the time I get it right I’m already all sweat and hair is unmade. The photo editor also does not help much and having access to the internet here  proved to be a challenge in itself. So, the difficulties are many but I will do my best to post while I’m down here.

My days are spent between the pool and delicious meals, I haven’t gone to any “special” place and I haven’t gone to the beach yet, but I rested a lot and just to think that the temperatures in Boston now reached -15 degrees Celsius, I feel happy to be here.

I got these pants as a gift, I simply loved the stripes, the baggy feeling to it and a nice fabric texture. To use any type of pants here is not a simple task, I think I really forgot how hot Brazilian summers are.

Have a nice weekend everyone, many thanks for all your comments on the previous post as well as for your patience on waiting for this one!

So we finally got our first Winter snow (I mean Fall) here in Boston , and it’s gonna be my last snow for the year.  Although I do complain a lot about the cold weather, I have almost like a love story with snow. I love watching the  snowflakes falling from my window and I just can’t ignore my all-Xmas-things compulsive  disorder. But this was not enough to keep me here. Soooo, I’m all packed up, gifts are wrapped up, tickets and passports are handy and my thoughts are elsewhere, in a different weather.

I felt privileged to get all this nice, white, and fluffy snow for my farewell but, until February next year, winter coats, tights, and boots, are gonna be replaced by dresses, shorts, bikinis (don’t worry I won’t publish any bikini photos…lol), sandals and barefoot. Regardless of winter, summer, north, south, Brazil, USA or any other country, what really fascinates me is the huge diversity of places, weather, people and, of course, fashion.

I’m not gonna wish Merry Christmas yet but this look really inspires me to do so. I invite you to add me at bloglovin (just click on that little button on the upper left corner of the screen) to start receiving updates of my new looks… and if you start getting some updates with tropical outfits, don’t be surprised… it’s me :D

Boa semana!
